Compared to the distinctly animale character of the Chambertin, here the nose is spicier and higher-toned but equally broad with a really lovely range of layered aromas that include only a hint of the sauvage though there is a subtle crushed leaf vegetal component that is not at all unpleasant so much as simply noticeable that introduces equally rich if slightly more refined medium full-bodied flavors that display excellent detail on the focused and energetic finish where moderately dry tannins surface that are probably the result of hail-induced vine shock that unfortunately, there is nothing to be done about by the vigneron. To be sure, this is classy juice but I would serve it with the appropriate food so as to help buffer the moderately austere finish caused by the dryness.
